Beer Bowl Mussels


4 pounds mussels
1-2 pounds boiled new potatoes
1 can beer
1 onion chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 bay leaf crushed
2 Tablespoons butter


Boil Potatoes till tender.
Simmer onion in beer with bay leaf till translucent. add mussels and lemon cover and steam for 5 minutes or till mussels have opened. Place Mussels and Potatoes in serving bowl. Strain broth thru cheesecloth or a couple of paper towels and simmmer with butter for 4 minutes and serve over Mussels and potatoes.
